Ute Mountain Lands – Book

Throughout time, changes to the lands due to settlements, erosion, and climate change have impacted the Utes’ way of life. This project enabled elders to connect with youth and share their stories while traveling together to different parts of the reservation to witness the changes to the land.

As the Ute lose their elders, they also risk losing teachings and practices passed down from their ancestors. By staying connected to the lands, and making use of new tools and technology, they have hope of preserving their culture and language for their future generations.
